Join the Emergency Department team at Sanford Medical Center Fargo as a Patient Care Technician. This part-time position is ideal for nursing students, CNAs, or individuals seeking to gain experience in patient care and refine clinical skills in a fast-paced emergency setting.
You will provide patient-centered care and daily living assistance to assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This role offers the opportunity to work with diverse patient populations and develop foundational clinical competencies.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and daily living assistance, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, meal preparation, and dining support
- Record vital statistics and other basic health information
- Administer basic health care and medical treatments as directed
- Collect non-invasive biological specimens from patients
- Prepare patient treatment areas for use and clean medical equipment
- Dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy
- Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare
- Provide one-on-one care to patients when necessary for safe provision of care
- Demonstrate strong communication, customer service, multitasking, and organizational skills
Schedule
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- No weekends
- Opportunity to pick up additional shifts
- 24 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- If working in North Dakota and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, must be on the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry upon completion of training and competency validation or within a maximum of four months from the date of initial employment
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment and supplies
- Ability to obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications
Compensation
- Salary range: $17.00 to $24.00 per hour
