Patient Care Technician – Emergency Department

Join our Emergency Department as a Patient Care Technician on a full-time contract basis. In this role, you will provide direct patient care and support to the nursing team in a fast-paced acute care hospital setting. You will work under RN supervision, performing vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, patient transport, hygiene care, and assisting with procedures. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and reporting patient condition changes, accurately entering and managing patient data and orders in our electronic health record system (Meditech), maintaining supplies and equipment, and supporting overall patient flow and communication to ensure a safe care environment.

Schedule

• Full-time position working three 12-hour shifts per week
• Shift hours: 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required

Compensation

• $736 – $840 per week

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• BLS Certification (AHA or RQI only)
• Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital experience in a Patient Care Technician or similar role
• Computer literacy required, with Meditech and Microsoft Office preferred
• Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in an Emergency Department setting
• Phlebotomy and EKG experience
• Medical Terminology knowledge
• CPI certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire)
