The opportunity

Job Description

Eckerd Living Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in our long-term care setting. Working under the supervision of registered nurses, you will assist the nursing staff in providing direct patient care and maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organized patient care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery
  • Provide non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
  • Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency
  • Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness
  • Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality
  • Comply with all hospital policies and procedures and observe State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel

Clinical Setting

Eckerd Living Center is part of Highlands-Cashiers Hospital, a community hospital serving Macon, Jackson, and surrounding counties. The facility operates 80 long-term care beds and provides 24/7 emergency care, acute inpatient care, and rehabilitation services.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 15 days of employment start date
