Patient Care Technician - CVICU

As a Patient Care Technician in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, you will assist the professional nursing staff in providing direct patient care and support to patients and the nursing unit. Working under the direction of nursing leadership, you will help deliver compassionate care to critically ill patients in a dynamic, fast-paced intensive care environment.

Methodist Dallas Medical Center is a 595-bed acute care teaching and referral hospital and the flagship facility of Methodist Health System. The hospital is home to the only adult Level I Trauma Center in southern Dallas, the first and only Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center in southern Dallas, and the newly renovated Linda and Mitch Hart Breast Center. Schedule

• 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• One of the following:
• One year of experience as a nursing assistant in a comparable healthcare facility
• Graduation from a certified nursing assistant program
• Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant program
• Documentation of completion of the first semester of a Nursing Program
• Documented military experience as a medic or corpsman
• Foreign nursing graduate not currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the U.S.
• EMT certification or Paramedic license
