Patient Care Technician

MultiCare Covington Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing care, patient transportation, and clerical functions across our 58-bed community hospital. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to develop clinical skills while collaborating with nurses and healthcare practitioners to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.

Clinical Setting

MultiCare Covington Medical Center is a four-story, 58-bed facility serving southeast King County. The hospital provides inpatient and outpatient surgical care, a birth center, primary and specialty care, urgent care, a 24-hour Emergency Department, pharmacy, lab, and imaging services.

Responsibilities

• Perform a dynamic range of duties and functions throughout the hospital
• Assist with basic nursing care across diverse patient populations
• Transport patients throughout the facility
• Perform clerical functions to support patient care operations
• Apply strong interpersonal skills when providing care for patients across diverse ethnic and social groups
• Collaborate with healthcare practitioners and registered nurses to ensure comprehensive quality care

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Nursing Assistant Certification or Licensure
• Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R) Certification Eligible (must apply within seven days of hire and obtain certification within sixty days of hire)
• Current BLS Certification
• Recent bedside care experience in a healthcare environment

Preferred Qualifications

• MA-P credential may be accepted in lieu of MA-R

Schedule

• FTE: 0.9
• Shift: Day shift
• 12-hour shifts with alternating weekends

Compensation and Benefits

The pay scale is $26.90 to $44.47 USD. Actual compensation is influenced by skill set, level of experience, and certifications or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will reflect the appropriate step on the pay scale based on years of experience.
