The Patient Care Technician in the Central Monitoring Unit provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. You will support patients' dependency needs including nutrition, hygiene, safety, and physical and psychological comfort measures.
This position is based in a patient care environment at Tampa General Hospital, a Florida Health Sciences Center facility. You will have extensive interaction with patients, staff, physicians, family members, and visitors.
This position involves lifting, bending, and stooping. You will have exposure to blood borne pathogens and potentially infectious body fluids. This role is classified as Level 1 under OSHA's occupational exposure definition, requiring performance of tasks involving exposure to blood and potentially infectious body fluids.
