Patient Care Technician - Cardiovascular Stepdown Unit - Night Shift

St. Joseph's Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Cardiovascular Stepdown Unit on the night shift. In this role, you will deliver direct patient care in collaboration with Registered Nurses, performing clinical tasks that support patient care without requiring nursing judgment or medication administration.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a cardiovascular stepdown unit within an office/clinical setting with Exposure Class I hazards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in collaboration with the Registered Nurse
• Perform phlebotomy and EKG procedures
• Perform tasks that do not require nursing judgment or medication administration
• Maintain accountability for the quality of patient care delivered
• Adhere to St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center standards of care and practice
• Participate in orientation and continuing education
• Maintain and update knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise
• Complete population-specific competency training annually

Schedule

• 12-hour night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Rotating schedule including weekends and holidays
• Initial training occurs during daytime hours

Physical Demands

This position requires heavy work, including standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer skills
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• First Aid training (provided upon hire)

• Mechanical aptitude
• Manual dexterity

Compensation

Pay range: $17.25 to $21.45 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education. Pay may vary within the stated range based on location.
