The opportunity

Job Description

Join Sanford Health's Rheumatology Clinic as a Patient Care Technician in our multi-specialty Northern Sky Clinic. This full-time position supports patient care activities in an ambulatory rheumatology setting, working Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with no weekends, evenings, or holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic patient care services including vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure), visual acuity screening, and color vision screening
  • Conduct point-of-care urinalysis and drug screens
  • Prepare patient treatment areas and medical equipment for use
  • Clean and maintain patient care areas and treatment rooms
  • Dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy
  • Monitor stock levels of medical inventory and restock or reorder as needed
  • Perform reception and clerical tasks
  • Work patient registries and identify opportunities to improve patient care
  • Provide care with knowledge of age-related patient needs and cultural diversity, serving patients from adolescence through geriatrics

Required Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers certification required or within the first 60 days of employment
  • If working in North Dakota and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, must be registered as a Nursing Assistant (NA) through the North Dakota Department of Health within four months from the date of initial employment

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Minimum of six months' experience
  • Experience in a clinic setting
  • Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification

Schedule

  • Full-time position
  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • No weekends, evenings, or holidays
