The opportunity

Job Description

This full-time day position provides direct patient care and clinical support in pre- and post-procedural settings within Advanced Radiology and Cardiovascular Services. Working under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel, you will assist with patient preparation, monitoring, comfort, mobility, and basic clinical data collection to support safe and efficient patient flow.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care including assistance with activities of daily living, mobility, positioning, hygiene, comfort measures, and patient safety needs
  • Obtain, document, and report patient information including vital signs, weights, intake and output, pain assessments, and other assigned observations according to established procedures
  • Assist with patient admission, preparation, transport, recovery, and discharge processes to support efficient patient flow
  • Perform assigned clinical support activities including specimen collection, point-of-care testing, electrocardiogram acquisition, and other delegated tasks within validated competencies and organizational policies
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized patient care environment by cleaning equipment, stocking supplies, performing routine room turnover activities, and identifying equipment or safety concerns
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, nurses, physicians, and other interdisciplinary team members to support quality patient care and timely escalation of patient concerns or condition changes

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association) certification upon hire
  • Knowledge of basic patient care principles and common clinical procedures
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology relevant to pre- and post-procedural care
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under the direction of licensed personnel
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Ability to provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and respond appropriately to patient and unit needs
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and accountability

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of direct patient care experience in an acute care, procedural, or healthcare setting
  • Certified Patient Care Technician (APCT_ASPT) certification
  • Completion of a patient care technician, nursing assistant, or related clinical training program
