Job Description

Join Addison Gilbert Hospital's Steele 1 Medical Surgical Unit as a Patient Care Technician, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. In this role, you will provide basic patient care activities focused on meeting patients' personal needs, comfort, and safety while assisting the nursing team in delivering quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and record vital signs, height, weight, and oxygen saturation
  • Collect various specimens for laboratory analysis
  • Record and measure patient intake and output
  • Provide personal care and assist patients with activities of daily living
  • Perform basic clinical procedures independently or under RN supervision
  • Assist with nutritional needs, including helping patients order room service, setting up meal trays, and feeding
  • Report all unusual observations to the supervising nurse
  • Participate as a multi-skilled member of the patient care team

Schedule

  • 16 hours per week
  • Night shift
  • Rotating every other weekend
  • Rotating every other holiday

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and write
  • Ability to perform basic four-function math
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
  • Influenza vaccination required as a condition of employment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills
  • Medical terminology knowledge
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification

Compensation

  • Hourly rate: $19.50 - $26.24
  • Actual compensation determined based on factors including seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, work location, job responsibilities, and other applicable factors
  • Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices as applicable
