Patient Care Technician - A3

Ellis Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the A3 Nursing Unit to assist professional nursing staff in providing direct and indirect patient care. Working under RN supervision, you will ensure patient safety, comfort, and well-being while performing a variety of clinical and clerical tasks in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, toileting, dressing, and grooming
• Aid patients with feeding and record intake and output
• Assist with elimination needs and provide catheter care
• Turn and position patients regularly to prevent pressure injuries and inspect skin condition
• Provide perineal care and support with hygiene needs
• Prevent falls, report hazards, and check equipment for safety
• Record vital signs, perform EKGs, and monitor glucose levels
• Operate patient care and transport equipment and perform related technical procedures
• Answer phones, maintain records, and coordinate patient movement
• Interact professionally and tactfully with patients, families, and staff members
• Follow dress code, accept feedback, support organizational policies, and participate in unit activities

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to push, pull, lift, and move 35 pounds
• Ability to perform manual tasks and data entry
• Mobility and communication in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare terminology or coursework
• BLS certification
• Prior healthcare experience

Schedule

• Part-time position (20 to less than 36 hours per week)
• Days shift
• Location: A3 Nursing Unit at Ellis Medicine

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly rate: $17.46 to $25.32 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education
