Patient Care Technician - 6th Floor Med/Surg - Full Time - Nights

Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will assist the nursing staff in providing basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients on the 6th Floor Medical/Surgical unit. This full-time position works the night shift and involves supporting patients with personal hygiene, activities of daily living, mobility, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Responsibilities

• Correctly identify patients prior to performing interventions or care
• Report any changes or concerns of patients and families to the primary caregiver
• Observe, collect, document, and report intake and output, vital signs (temperature, radial pulse, respiration, blood pressure), and weights
• Provide bathing, oral and hair care, bed making, ambulation and positioning, and toileting
• Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment
• Transport medications as defined and authorized by Pharmacy Services
• Perform other duties as required

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic life support certification (to be completed by end of probationary period and maintained while in position)
• Behavior management training (to be completed by end of probationary period and maintained while in position)

Schedule

• Full-time position
• Night shift
• 12.5 hours per shift
• 0.9 FTE
• 12-hour work schedule

Compensation

• Pay range: $18 to $23 per hour
