Patient Assistant - Pediatric Operating Room - Mid Shift

Join NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center as a Patient Assistant in the Pediatric Operating Room. In this full-time role, you will support the surgical care team by maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organized patient environment. Working alongside registered nurses and other healthcare professionals, you will assist with patient care activities, ensure proper maintenance and availability of supplies and equipment, and help create a supportive atmosphere for pediatric patients and their families.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a pediatric operating room at a major academic medical center, supporting surgical procedures and patient care in a specialized pediatric environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain a safe, neat, and clean patient environment
• Ensure maintenance of supplies, equipment, and patient care materials in accordance with established procedures
• Participate in patient care activities as a member of the nursing team under the supervision of a registered nurse
• Communicate clearly with staff, patients, and visitors

Schedule

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM (mid shift).

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• BCLS certification according to the American Heart Association
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with staff, patients, and visitors

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a Nurse's Aide or equivalent

Location and On-Site Requirements

This position is located in New York, New York. All roles require on-site presence, and employees should live within a commutable distance to NewYork-Presbyterian. The employer will not reimburse for travel expenses.

Compensation

Hourly rate: $30.10 to $36.15, based on experience, education, and licensure.
