CareMed Health Solutions is seeking a Part Time Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to provide wound services to patients living in skilled nursing facilities in the Nashville, Arkansas area. In this role, you will work with an interdisciplinary care team to deliver quality wound care to elderly residents in long-term care settings.
Responsibilities
- Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities
- Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with Arkansas law
- Order, review, and follow up with treatments and diagnostic testing
- Communicate regularly with nursing home staff to discuss changes in patient condition and care plan updates
- Collaborate with primary care physicians on patient care coordination
Required Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Arkansas
- Board Certification
- Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties
- Clinical background in wound care, including chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds
- Comfort with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers
- Ability to stage pressure injuries according to NPIAP standards
- Familiarity with wound care best practices and advanced wound care products including collagens, alginates, foams, and silvers
- Experience with wound vacs and other DME such as pressure relieving and reducing devices
- Experience working in a long-term care setting
- Ability to work with an EMR system
- Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care
Preferred Qualifications
- Wound care certification or willingness to obtain certification
- DEA licensure
