Part-Time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner PMHNP - Remote

Grace Community Care & Homes is seeking a part-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide remote psychiatric services for planned mental health and substance-use programs in New Jersey. This role offers flexible part-time scheduling with the opportunity to work from home while delivering comprehensive psychiatric care to patients across various treatment settings.

Clinical Setting

This position supports outpatient mental health and substance-use services, with potential involvement in intensive outpatient programs (IOP) and residential treatment. All clinical work is delivered remotely unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. Any on-site responsibilities will be disclosed before assignment and require a separate coverage agreement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Prescribe medications within New Jersey scope of practice authority
• Monitor medication response and manage side effects
• Manage medication refills and respond to patient questions
• Maintain accurate electronic health records
• Participate in virtual case reviews and coordinate with the medical director and clinical team
• Perform addiction-treatment duties as assigned based on demonstrated qualifications
• Manage documentation, follow-up work, and patient communication as part of billable hours

Initial planning targets approximately five appointments per clinical day. Hours will reflect the length of visits, documentation requirements, and follow-up work.

Required Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN licensure
• Active New Jersey APN certification in the psychiatric or mental health category
• Current PMHNP board certification
• New Jersey prescribing authority with required practice arrangements in place
• DEA registration and New Jersey controlled-substance credentials when required for assigned medications
• Experience with psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and electronic health records
• Experience with telehealth delivery
• Demonstrated competence with assigned patient age groups
• Eligibility for applicable payer enrollment
• Current malpractice insurance or eligibility for coverage before engagement

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with outpatient addiction treatment
• Experience with intensive outpatient programs (IOP) or residential treatment settings
• Child and adolescent psychiatric experience (if supporting those age groups)
• New Jersey Medicaid experience

Schedule and Compensation

This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling within agreed coverage needs. Compensation is hourly and negotiable. Please provide your requested hourly rate with your application. Paid time includes agreed documentation, refill management, and patient communication. Additional programs or on-site responsibilities require a separate scope agreement and additional compensation.
