Wellstar Health System is seeking a Part-Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Oncology department at Roswell. In this role, you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Nurse Manager, working within the LPN scope of practice. You will care for oncology patients, meeting their physical, emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and educational needs while delivering high-quality, relationship-based care.
Clinical Setting
This position is based in the Oncology department at Roswell. As a float staff member, you may be required to float between Cobb Hospital departments based on operational needs. All sites are within 35 miles of Cobb Hospital.
Schedule
- Part-Time, 24 hours per week
- Day shift (United States of America)

Responsibilities
Direct Patient Care
- Assess and assist with managing patients' total needs following physician orders with RN oversight and utilizing the nursing process
- Perform routine nursing procedures to meet patient needs under RN supervision
- Meet established productivity standards
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill in accessing and de-accessing ports, including flushing lines and maintaining sterile technique
- Administer medications as defined within scope of practice for Wellstar Health System
- Seek training, supervision, or direction from leadership as needed
- Delegate tasks to unlicensed staff as appropriate and within scope of practice
- Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care that is culturally sensitive and consistent with population-specific characteristics
- Partner with patients, significant others, and family members to promote a comfortable and safe environment for care delivery
Coordination of Services
- Coordinate care and services with the RN and other team members
- Inform the RN, physician, midlevel provider, clinical supervisor, or manager of changes in patient condition as appropriate
- Collaborate with the RN to develop and revise the individual plan of care based on patient need and physician orders
Patient and Caregiver Education
- Serve as a patient educator to foster self-care or caregiver support
- Utilize teach-back methods to ensure patients and caregivers understand self-care instructions
Communication and Documentation
- Complete required documentation accurately within established timeframes
- Demonstrate knowledge of and appropriate application of regulatory guidelines
- Check voicemail and return patient phone calls as appropriate when working in triage
- Check work email daily
Staff Education and Professional Development
- Participate in the orientation and education of new employees and nursing students as appropriate
- Attend continuing education and in-services as directed and needed
- Remain current in clinical knowledge for the care of oncology patients
- May serve as a preceptor for newly hired LPN colleagues
Additional Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Active LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) license
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or ARC-BLS (American Red Cross Basic Life Support) or BLS-I (Basic Life Support - Instructor)
- Reliable transportation and valid Georgia driver's license
