Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) - Primary Care

Inova Primary Care - Crystal City is seeking a full-time Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care in a physician practice setting. This is a Monday through Friday day shift position from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, located at 400 Fannon St, Floor 3, Alexandria, VA 22301.

Clinical Setting

You will work in an outpatient primary care clinic environment, providing safe and therapeutic care to patients in a holistic and systematic way. The role incorporates cultural differences into patient care while integrating knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Perform full patient intakes
• Reconcile medications
• Provide patient education
• Administer vaccinations, injections, and perform phlebotomy
• Provide safe and therapeutic care in a holistic manner
• Incorporate patient and family education into care delivery
• Use data and information to improve care and enhance outcomes
• Provide direction and guidance to others regarding practice, serving as a resource, preceptor, and mentor
• Ensure efficiency in care delivery by determining immediate priorities and offering solutions for problems
• Work collaboratively with the team to achieve maximum productivity
• Make independent clinical decisions based on knowledge from education and experience

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing. If you hold an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), you must complete a BSN within 5 years of the start date.
• Active RN license or eligibility to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Zero years of registered nurse clinical experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of experience as an RN in ambulatory medicine
