The opportunity

Job Description

Inova Health – Government Clinics is seeking a full-time Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care in a government clinic setting. This position offers a stable Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no weekend or on-call requirements.

Clinical Setting

You will work in an outpatient government clinic environment, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care and support.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate individualized plans of care based on patient trends, including patient education and discharge planning
  • Identify variances from expected outcomes and evaluate patient outcomes to make necessary revisions to care plans
  • Collaborate with patients and families to identify realistic desired outcomes and adapt standards and guidelines for individual patient needs
  • Tailor and prioritize caring practice to address cultural, ethical, and spiritual needs
  • Participate in planning routine transitional healthcare needs, including treatment options, patient placement options, and end-of-life options
  • Respond to changes in patients' needs and provide holistic, person-centered care
  • Make independent clinical decisions based on knowledge from education and experience
  • Actively advocate for patients' rights and identify potential conflicts
  • Ensure efficiency in care delivery by determining immediate priorities and offering solutions for problems
  • Work collaboratively with the team to achieve maximum productivity

Schedule

  • Full-time position
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Day shift only

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing. Candidates with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) must complete a BSN within 5 years of the start date.
  • Active RN license or eligibility to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Top Secret Security Clearance (ISSA/TS/SCI) required. If you do not hold this clearance at the time of hire, you must obtain it within one year of the hire date.
  • Zero years of registered nurse clinical experience required; entry-level candidates are welcome to apply

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of RN experience in a clinical setting
