Outpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2 - Gastroenterology

Inova Gastroenterology is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2 to provide patient care in an outpatient gastroenterology setting. This is a Monday through Friday day position from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, located in Fairfax, Virginia.

Clinical Setting

You will work in an outpatient gastroenterology clinic providing direct patient care and supporting the clinical team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate referrals for patient chronic care conditions and follow-up care as indicated by the specialist and primary care physician's initial care plan
• Administer prescribed oral and intramuscular medications, therapies, and treatments following practical nursing standards under direct physician supervision
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families
• Support healthcare team members in achieving team goals and assign appropriate tasks to care assistants
• Maintain and review patient medical records, notes, and physician orders
• Document all patient care activities in accordance with documentation standards and legal requirements for medical facilities

Required Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical Diploma in Practical Nursing
• Active Licensed Practical Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Two years of nursing practice in a hospital or clinic setting
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of experience as an LPN
