Outpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2 - Cardiology

Inova Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2 for the Cardiology department. This is a full-time day position working Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, in an outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate referrals for patient chronic care conditions and follow-up care as indicated by the initial care plan of the specialist and/or primary care physician
• Administer prescribed oral and intramuscular medications, therapies, and treatments following practical nursing standards and under the direct supervision of the physician
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families
• Support healthcare team members to achieve team goals and assign appropriate tasks to care assistants
• Maintain and review patient medical records, notes, and physician orders
• Document all patient care activities in accordance with documentation standards and legal requirements for medical facilities

Required Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical Diploma in Practical Nursing
• Active Licensed Practical Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Two years of nursing practice in a hospital or clinic setting
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
