The opportunity

Job Description

The University of Rochester Medical Center's Orthopaedic Spine Division is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a per diem position. You will deliver cutting-edge orthopedic spine care in a state-of-the-art facility, working collaboratively with the operative spine division to oversee care for the outpatient population.

Clinical Setting

You will work within an established team of APPs at a major academic medical center, providing direct patient care in the orthopedic spine specialty.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to the outpatient orthopedic spine population
  • Document all care delivered in accordance with institutional standards
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and clinical standards
  • Work under the direction and guidance of the collaborating attending surgeon
  • Assist in all aspects of patient care as directed by the attending surgeon
  • Participate in the education of learners, including students and new employees, through clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing, and skill training

Required Qualifications

For Nurse Practitioners:

  • Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing
  • Active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing
  • Current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner

For Physician Assistants:

  • Completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program
  • Active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing
  • Current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)

Compensation

  • Hourly rate: $47.36 - $63.94
  • Individual rates will be determined based on market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise, and internal equity considerations
