Grace Hospital is opening an outpatient Orthopedic Clinic Department in Tremont and seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive orthopedic evaluation and treatment. This position starts as PRN or Per Diem status with potential to transition into Part-time or Full-time as the clinic grows.
Clinical Setting
You will work in an outpatient orthopedic clinic setting, providing independent clinical and administrative patient care functions under the direction of a supervising physician. You will collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapy, and other referring providers to coordinate comprehensive care.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive musculoskeletal examinations including complete patient histories, mechanism of injury assessment, and evaluation of acute orthopedic injuries and chronic musculoskeletal conditions
- Order and interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory testing
- Perform orthopedic procedures including fracture evaluation and management, joint aspirations and injections, and wound care
- Perform patient intake including vital signs, height and weight, pain scores, medication reconciliation, allergies, medical history, and chief complaints
- Prescribe medications according to state law and organizational policy
- Educate patients on medication use, diagnosis, treatment plan, return precautions, and follow-up care
- Complete timely and accurate documentation according to policy
- Coordinate care with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapy, and other referring providers
- Perform patient preparation and room turnover
- Take call as assigned
- Follow OSHA and CDC infection prevention standards
- Manage inventory and restock clinical supplies
- Complete administrative duties as needed
Required Qualifications
- Current State of Ohio Nurse Practitioner License
- At least one year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an orthopedic setting
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8-10 hours per day
