The opportunity
Job Description
Operating room technicians (ORTs) are licensed practical nurses with advanced skills who provide critical assistance to surgeons, nurses, and other medical personnel during surgical procedures. In this role, you will work as a scrub technician, handling a variety of responsibilities essential to surgical success.
Responsibilities
- Set up surgical instruments and equipment before surgery
- Transport patients to the operating room
- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and cutting sutures
- Support the surgical team across multiple specialties
Specialties
You will need to be able to scrub most surgical specialties including orthopedic, general surgery, urology, podiatry, and ENT procedures.
Schedule
- 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
- Hours: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday
- On-call duties as needed
Required Qualifications
- BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
- CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification
