Operating Room Technician - Pre/PACU

Bluffton Community Hospital, a new 28-bed full-service facility scheduled to open in early 2027, is seeking an Operating Room Technician to support the perioperative care team in the Pre-Op and PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) areas. This role combines technical expertise with direct patient support in a modern surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the perioperative care team with patient care and surgical suite preparation
• Perform patient positioning, transport, prepping, and draping for procedures
• Retrieve, prepare, and assist in the use of surgical equipment
• Respond during emergency situations as directed by the MDA, RN, and CRNA
• Turn over operating rooms between cases, including restocking supplies, cleaning, returning equipment, and delivering specimens
• Support routine and complex surgical cases
• Perform additional duties as assigned within scope of practice

Clinical Setting

Bluffton Community Hospital will feature 24/7 emergency services, acute inpatient nursing units, surgical and endoscopy suites, a cardiac catheterization lab, advanced imaging, and laboratory services. The facility represents a significant expansion of healthcare access to southern Beaufort County and the surrounding Lowcountry.

Reporting Structure

This position functions under the supervision of MDAs, RNs, CRNAs, AAs, and surgeons, and reports to the Director of Perioperative Services.
