Operating Room RN

Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center's Main Operating Room seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to deliver safe, high-quality intraoperative care to surgical patients. This is a full-time position on the day shift with rotating weekends and holidays; on-call duties are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide intraoperative care by performing circulating and/or scrub duties
• Position patients appropriately for procedures
• Prepare surgical sites
• Handle instrumentation and maintain sterile technique
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient, coordinated care throughout procedures

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate's degree in Nursing
• Valid RN license in Connecticut
• One or more years of intraoperative nursing experience, including both circulating and scrub experience
• Ability to function independently in the operating room

This role is not designed for new graduates or those seeking training through the Periop 101 program.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current BLS/CPR certification (AHA or Red Cross)
• Familiarity with AORN standards

Schedule and Compensation

• Full-time: 40 hours per week, day shift
• Rotating weekends and holidays with on-call requirements
• Hourly position included in RN Step Program pay range: $36.15 to $59.95
• Specialty pay available exclusively to experienced nurses with one or more years of RN experience
