Operating Room Nurse - Surgery Center

Medical City Ambulatory Surgery Center in Dallas is seeking an Operating Room Nurse to join our AAAHC-accredited surgery center. We perform over 350 procedures monthly across multiple specialties including ENT, gastroenterology, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, podiatry, and general surgery.

Responsibilities

• Oversee instrument and equipment setup for the operating room, including utilization of preference cards and anticipation of surgeon needs
• Coordinate and oversee the room during cases as the circulator
• Facilitate effective and efficient transitions between surgical procedures
• Utilize appropriate body mechanics when moving patients to stretchers and operating room tables to prevent injury
• Manage patient care and medication, including assistance with anesthesia
• Consistently review charts for completeness in accordance with documentation protocols before and after surgical procedures
• Ensure safe and effective nursing care until patient transfer to recovery

Required Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center
• Active RN license as required by state of employment or appropriate compact licensure
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable)
• ACLS as required by facility

Preferred Qualifications

• PALS certification (may be required at some facilities)
• CNOR certification
