Operating Room Aide - Surgery

The Operating Room Aide plays a crucial role in supporting surgical operations at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center. You will prepare, maintain, and reset operating rooms efficiently while upholding stringent hygiene and safety standards. This position is essential to optimizing surgical workflow and ensuring the OR environment meets all regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize operating rooms between procedures
• Set up surgical equipment according to specifications
• Assist with the logistics of surgical instruments and supplies
• Support surgical teams during and between procedures
• Manage multiple tasks under tight schedules while adhering to strict health and safety protocols
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia staff, nurses, and surgical technicians

Clinical Setting

You will work in a rural hospital operating room environment where you will support a wide variety of surgical procedures, from fast-paced trauma cases to highly specialized operations. The OR is a collaborative setting where precision, teamwork, and attention to detail are essential.

Schedule

This position involves shifts that may extend outside regular hours, requiring flexibility and quick adaptability to changing surgical schedules.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT) certification within 6 months of hire
• American Heart Association BLS certification within 30 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior healthcare experience
• High school graduate or GED equivalent
