On Call Substitute School Nurse

Inver Grove Heights Community Schools seeks a flexible substitute licensed school nurse to provide health services across five district schools: Hilltop Elementary, Salem Hills Elementary, Pine Bend Elementary, IGH Middle School, and Simley High School. You will have complete control over your schedule, accepting as many or as few shifts as you prefer. Coverage needs are communicated through real-time text or phone alerts.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a school-based health setting serving students, families, and school personnel across elementary, middle, and high school levels.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain optimal health and well-being of students, families, and school personnel through health counseling
• Communicate current health problems, needs, and concerns of students to their parents and appropriate school staff
• Administer medications and treatments to students per physician's order and parent authorization according to district policies and protocols
• Maintain daily records regarding health status of students and staff and utilization of school health service programs
• Handle any and all medical emergencies that occur during the day per policy

Required Qualifications

• Current Minnesota license to practice as a Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• CPR and AED certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of diabetes, seizures, asthma, and anaphylaxis in children

Schedule

• Part-time substitute position
• 8 hours per day
• Flexible scheduling with the ability to accept or decline shifts
• On-call availability for real-time shift notifications

Compensation and Benefits

• RN: $33.24 per hour
• LPN: $25.34 per hour
• Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) in accordance with local regulations
• This position is not eligible for additional district-sponsored benefits or paid time off
