Our House is a 14-room residential care facility serving people living with HIV who need support with independent living. This on-call Licensed Practical Nurse position provides direct nursing care to residents while supporting their clinical, social, and therapeutic needs.

Clinical Setting

Our House is part of CAP Northwest, an organization that integrates nursing, social services, and therapeutic activities to help residents define and achieve their own vision of living well. The facility serves individuals with HIV, substance use disorder, and behavioral health support needs across all care levels.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate resident care in collaboration with the primary care provider and clinical staff
  • Perform nursing procedures in accordance with licensure and skill level, utilizing principles of safety and infection control
  • Provide direct care to residents and maintain environmental care of the facility
  • Assist with activities of daily living
  • Administer and document medications and treatments using the electronic medication administration record
  • Explain treatments and conditions to patients of all ages and diverse populations
  • Work collaboratively with the resident's primary care provider, clinical staff, and support system

Schedule

This is an on-call position at Our House in SE Portland. Shifts vary.

Compensation

Starting pay is $35.37 per hour with the following differentials:

  • $1.00 for evenings and weekends
  • $6.00 for nights
  • $6.50 for weekend nights

Required Qualifications

  • Unencumbered nursing license in the state of Oregon
  • Basic Life Support card
  • Ability to pass DHS background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of relevant nursing experience
  • Experience or motivation to work with persons living with HIV, substance use disorder, or behavioral health support needs
  • Commitment to advancing equity and inclusion in workplace or community settings
  • Willingness to engage in equity and inclusion initiatives and discussions, including training workshops and team meetings
