Ohio | Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner – PMHNP – Telehealth Addiction & Mental Health Care

Affect is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide 100% virtual telehealth care for individuals with substance use disorders and mental health conditions. You will work as part of an integrated care team that combines mobile technology with counseling and medical services to deliver evidence-based treatment. Both full-time and part-time positions are available in Ohio.

Clinical Setting

This is a fully remote telehealth role. You will conduct virtual evaluations and provide ongoing care using Affect's EHR system (Healthie) and mobile app platform. You must have a quiet, private office with a reliable internet connection that meets HIPAA compliance requirements for telehealth visits.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and follow-up telehealth evaluations for members with substance use and mental health disorders
• Prescribe medications as appropriate, with a focus on evidence-based treatment approaches
• Prescribe Suboxone for opioid use disorder treatment as clinically indicated
• Answer member questions and provide clinical guidance
• Complete documentation in the EHR system
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including counselors, therapists, peer support specialists, and case managers
• Attend occasional scheduled team meetings

Important Note on Prescribing

Affect does not prescribe controlled substances other than Suboxone for opioid use disorder treatment. Affect provides extensive training on evidence-based approaches to treatment. Medication decisions are ultimately made at the provider's discretion in collaboration with the member.

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted PMHNP license in Ohio (required for this position)
• At least 2 years of experience as a PMHNP
• Experience prescribing Suboxone
• Active DEA registration
• Comfort using technology, including EHRs and mobile apps

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in addiction or mental health treatment
• Medicaid enrollment
• Multi-state licensure (Affect covers the cost of obtaining additional state licenses)

Additional Requirements

• You must hold an active, unrestricted license in Ohio
• If your state of residence differs from Ohio, you must also hold an active license in your state of residence
• Willingness to obtain multi-state licensure, with costs covered by Affect
• Empathy for members facing behavioral health challenges

Consideration for Less Experienced Providers

Affect will consider relevant previous experience for those with less than 2 years of experience as a PMHNP.
