JennieCare is seeking a full-time Occupational Health Licensed Practical Nurse to provide patient care in an office-based occupational health setting. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a medical provider to support the investigation, treatment, and prevention of workplace-related injuries and illnesses. You will conduct physical assessments and drug screening for pre-employment evaluations, maintain accurate medical records, and communicate clinical information with medical providers, employers, and staff.

Clinical Setting

This position is based in an office environment within the occupational health department. You will work as part of a clinical team reporting to the Clinic Coordinator or designee.

Responsibilities

Customer Services

  • Welcome patients and visitors in a professional manner
  • Answer and refer inquiries within your scope of practice
  • Answer telephone calls, process requests, and document appropriately in medical records
  • Return all messages in a timely manner
  • Maintain communication between medical staff, administrative staff, and patients or families

Clinical Services

  • Maintain and update medical records
  • Schedule appointments
  • Facilitate medical requests including refill requests, work and school notes, and form completion
  • Scan and upload patient clinical documents into medical charts
  • Process and coordinate medical provider orders including diagnostic, referral, pharmaceutical, and surgical services
  • Review daily provider schedules and ensure all supplies and medical records are ready for patient and provider encounters
  • Provide patient education as directed by the medical provider and within your scope of practice
  • Conduct pre-employment physical assessments and drug screening
  • Perform breath alcohol testing
  • Collect lab samples
  • Conduct health screenings and spirometry testing

Environmental Services

  • Ensure all equipment in exam and surgical rooms are clean and properly set up
  • Contribute to the overall cleanliness and appearance of your work space and department
  • Monitor clinical supply levels in exam rooms and stock room and request supplies as needed
  • Maintain all clinical equipment and evaluate equipment for damage or maintenance needs

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
  • Current Kentucky LPN license or active multistate LPN license
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Ability to perform pre-employment physicals, drug screening, and breath alcohol testing
  • Knowledge and ability to work in accordance with accepted clinical standards
