The opportunity
Job Description
As a Nursing Assistant in the Operating Room, you will provide basic nursing care for assigned patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will work in Surgical Services, caring for patients ranging from neonates to geriatric populations. This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic nursing care to assigned patients under RN supervision
- Complete established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- BLS certification obtained through an approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification, to be obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer to the position
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assisting course
- At least 6 months of experience in the healthcare industry
- Knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures
