Nursing Assistant -- Operating Room -- Memorial Hospital

Memorial Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Operating Room. In this role, you will perform direct patient care activities and procedures under the direction of a Clinical Nurse, supporting the surgical team and ensuring optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality care to patients as delegated by the Clinical Nurse and according to hospital policy and procedure
• Assist with procedures as determined by hospital policy and procedure and regulatory guidelines
• Maintain a neat, clean, and safe patient and unit environment
• Provide optimum assistance to medical and nursing staff by assisting patients with activities of daily living and daily assignments
• Assist in orientation of new Nursing Assistants
• Provide courteous and prompt response to patient requests
• Assist with unit maintenance related to ordering and receiving supplies, medications, manuals, and equipment
• May be required to cover the house

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (relevant experience may be substituted as determined by manager and talent acquisition specialist)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
• Ability to obtain and interpret patient information in terms of patient needs
• Knowledge of growth and development
• Understanding of the range of treatment needed by patients
• Demonstrate competency through initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to independently perform assigned tasks

Schedule

• Full-time regular position (1.0 FTE)
• Varies; includes potential for overtime, various shift work, and on-call situations
