Join General Hospital as a Nursing Assistant in the Operating Room, where you will provide direct patient care activities and support clinical procedures under the direction of a Clinical Nurse. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic surgical environment while developing your skills in patient care and operating room support.
Responsibilities
- Deliver quality care to patients as delegated by the Clinical Nurse and according to hospital policy and procedure
- Assist with procedures as determined by hospital policy and procedure and regulatory guidelines
- Maintain a neat, clean, and safe patient and unit environment
- Provide optimum assistance to medical and nursing staff by assisting patients with activities of daily living and daily assignments
- Assist in orientation of new Nursing Assistants
- Provide courteous and prompt response to patient requests
- Assist with unit maintenance related to ordering and receiving supplies, medications, manuals, and equipment
- May be required to cover the house
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (relevant experience may be substituted as determined by manager and talent acquisition specialist)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
- Ability to obtain and interpret patient information in terms of patient needs
- Knowledge of growth and development
- Understanding of the range of treatment needed by patients
- Demonstrate competency through initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to independently perform assigned tasks
Schedule
- Full-time regular position (1.0 FTE)
- Varies (includes potential for overtime, various shift work, and on-call situations)
