The opportunity

Job Description

Sanford Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join the inpatient Operating Room team at Bismarck Medical Center. In this role, you will provide patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). You will be essential to keeping the unit functioning smoothly while gaining valuable, hands-on experience in a healthcare setting.

Clinical Setting

You will work in an inpatient operating room environment at Bismarck Medical Center, located at 300 N 7th St, Bismarck, ND 58501.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance with basic health care needs including bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating, while supporting emotional and spiritual needs
  • Record vital statistics, blood glucose levels, and other basic health information
  • Assist with patient transfers and ambulation
  • Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare
  • Prepare and clean patient treatment areas, living areas, and medical equipment
  • Dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy

Schedule

This is a part-time position working 20 hours per week. You will work 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, covering 4-hour shifts during the evening from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. No weekends are required.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
  • If working in North Dakota and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, you must be on the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry upon completion of training and competency validation or within a maximum of four months from the date of initial employment
  • If working in Wisconsin, you must be on the Wisconsin Nurse Aid Registry with current work eligibility

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications

Compensation and Benefits
