GSS MN Windom is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for a part-time position in our senior skilled nursing facility specializing in assisted living, long-term care, and post-acute care services. As a Nursing Assistant, you will provide resident-centered care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse, delivering age-appropriate care based on individual care plans.
Clinical Setting
This position is located at GSS MN Windom, a senior skilled nursing facility in Windom, Minnesota. The facility is part of a not-for-profit organization with over 100 years of experience providing housing and services to seniors.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct resident care including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing and undressing
- Assist residents with transfers, repositioning, and walking using correct transfer techniques and equipment
- Provide range of motion and passive exercises
- Obtain and record vital signs
- Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens
- Assist with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements, and create a positive dining experience
- Provide psychosocial support and personal care to assigned residents
- Aid providers and nursing staff with procedures as needed
- Document resident interactions, care outcomes, behavior, activity, and dietary information
- Communicate residents' changing conditions and care-related concerns to the charge nurse
- Provide housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living areas
- Assist with and document wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident participation
- Follow infection prevention and control policies and proper Personal Protective Equipment use
- Participate in departmental and organizational committees and task forces as needed
Schedule
- Part-time position with varying shifts
- 24 hours per week
- Shift differentials available for night and weekend shifts
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of hire date by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through endorsement
- CNA training and certification provided by facility
- Satisfactory completion of yearly department-specific competency testing
- Maintenance of a record of continuing education credits, with a minimum of 12 hours required annually
- Maintenance of all department-specific required certifications
- When applicable for the state, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry
- Depending on facility requirements, may require a valid driver's license, motor vehicle report, and medical qualification to perform driving functions per Sanford Driving Policy
Preferred Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $22.60 to $25.50 per hour
