Good Samaritan Society-Park River is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for full-time night shifts at our 60-bed senior care facility. You will provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse, supporting both skilled and basic care populations.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and undressing
- Obtain and record vital signs
- Assist residents with transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct transfer techniques and equipment
- Provide range of motion and passive exercises
- Assist with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements, and create a positive dining experience
- Provide psychosocial support and companionship
- Aid nursing staff and providers with procedures as needed
- Document resident interactions, care outcomes, behavior, activity, and dietary information
- Communicate residents' changing conditions and care-related concerns to the charge nurse
- Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens
- Provide housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living areas
- Assist with and document wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident participation
- Participate in departmental committees and task forces as needed
- Follow all infection prevention and control policies and Personal Protective Equipment use requirements
Clinical Setting
This is a long-term care facility providing skilled and basic care to seniors. The nursing team uses primary assignments to ensure continuity of care.
Schedule
- Shift: 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- Full-time position with 32 hours per week
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Maintain all department-specific required certifications
- Satisfactorily complete yearly department-specific competency testing
- Maintain a record of continuing education credits, with a minimum of 12 hours required annually
- When applicable for your state, be certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry
- Depending on facility requirements, may need to be classified as a Sanford Category II Driver, requiring a valid driver's license, motor vehicle report, and medical qualification to perform driving functions per Sanford Driving Policy
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care
