Nursing Assistant, Certified - FT Day

As a Certified Nursing Assistant at GSS ND Park River, you will provide resident-centered care and daily living assistance to seniors in a long-term care setting. Working under the supervision of a registered nurse, you will be a key member of the nursing team, delivering compassionate, age-appropriate care based on individual care plans.

Clinical Setting

GSS ND Park River is a not-for-profit senior housing and services organization with over 100 years of experience providing quality care in a Christian environment. You will work in a long-term care facility located in Park River, North Dakota.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing and undressing
• Obtain and record vital signs
• Assist residents with transfers, repositioning, and walking using correct transfer techniques and equipment
• Provide range of motion and passive exercises
• Assist with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements, and create positive dining experiences
• Provide psychosocial support and personal care to assigned residents
• Aid providers and nursing staff with procedures as needed
• Document resident interactions, care outcomes, behavior, activity, and dietary information
• Communicate residents' changing conditions and care-related concerns to the charge nurse
• Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens
• Provide housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living areas
• Assist with and document wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident participation
• Participate in departmental and organizational committees and task forces as needed
• Follow all infection prevention and control policies and use Personal Protective Equipment appropriately

Required Qualifications

• Minimum age of 16
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of hire date by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through endorsement. CNA training and certification are provided by the facility.
• Satisfactory completion of yearly department-specific competency testing
• Maintenance of a record of continuing education credits, with a minimum of 12 hours required annually
• Maintenance of all department-specific required certifications
• When applicable for the state, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry
• Depending on facility requirements, may need to be classified as a Sanford Category II Driver, requiring a motor vehicle report, proof of valid driver's license, and medical qualification to perform essential driving functions per Sanford Driving Policy

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care

• Full-time position
• Day shift
• 40 hours per week

• Salary range: $21.00 to $25.50 per hour
