Nurse Tech 1 Estar/Surgical Admit Unit ** Nursing Student in last year of Nursing School** PRN

Erlanger Baroness Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee is seeking a Nurse Tech 1 for the Estar/Surgical Admit Unit on a PRN (as-needed) basis. This position is specifically designed for nursing students in their final year of an accredited RN or LPN nursing program.

As a Nurse Tech 1, you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Your responsibilities will include assisting with nursing procedures, supporting patients with activities of daily living, and operating equipment necessary for patient care as assigned by the nursing staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN direction
• Assist with nursing procedures and patient care activities
• Support patients with activities of daily living
• Operate equipment necessary for patient care
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the patient population served
• Assess and respond to patient status as directed
• Follow unit policies and procedures
• Provide age-appropriate care based on principles of growth and development

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a nursing student (RN or LPN program) within one year of graduation from an accredited nursing program
• Medical background
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification completed prior to beginning work on the unit and maintained throughout employment

Schedule
