Nurse-Substitute School Nurse - Swampscott Public Schools

Swampscott Public Schools is seeking substitute school nurses to provide coverage in the school health office when permanent nursing staff are unavailable. In this role, you will deliver primary health and emergency care to students in pre-K through grade 12, promote wellness, and serve as a health resource within the school setting.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as ordered
• Provide care for student and staff illness and accidents
• Administer care based on individual health care plans and individual emergency care plans
• Serve as liaison between home and school regarding student health concerns
• Document all encounters in the Electronic Health Record
• Follow communicable disease control procedures and inform administration and/or parents regarding school exclusion and readmission
