The opportunity

Job Description

Nurses and More is seeking LPN and RN nurses for one-to-one pediatric care assignments in Charlotte, NC area schools for the 2026-2027 school year. You will provide individualized nursing care to a single student in a school setting, building continuity with the same child, family, and school team every day.

In this role, you will either ride with your student on school-provided transportation or meet your student at school. The school system provides all transportation; you are never responsible for driving a student in your own vehicle. Care is guided by each child's individual care plan and may include tracheostomy care, G-tube feeding, oxygen and respiratory monitoring, seizure monitoring and PRN medication administration, blood sugar monitoring, behavior monitoring and redirection, fall prevention and safety monitoring, assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), transfers, and positioning. You will document care on a tablet.

Current Openings

Multiple assignments are available with varying schedules and acuity levels:

  • Elementary-age girl, ride along, Monday-Friday 7:00 AM-4:00 PM. LPN $33.50/hour, RN $39.50/hour. Seizure, asthma, and behavior monitoring.
  • Elementary-age girl, ride along. G-tube feedings, blood sugar and seizure monitoring. LPN $33/hour, RN $39/hour.
  • Teen girl, ride along, Monday-Friday 6:00 AM-2:30 PM. LPN $33/hour, RN $39/hour. Seizure monitoring, G-tube feedings, full ADL assistance.
  • Young adult with higher acuity, meet at school, Tuesday-Friday 8:00 AM-3:00 PM. LPN $33/hour, RN $39/hour. G-tube, oxygen, seizure monitoring, and ADL assistance.
  • Kindergarten-age girl, RN only, meet at school, Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-12:00 PM. $42/hour, plus potential $80 daily bonus. Seizure monitoring, medication and ADL assistance.
  • Elementary-age boy, meet at school, Monday-Friday 7:45 AM-2:45 PM. LPN $33/hour, RN $39/hour. Stand-by assist with walking and transfers, safety and seizure-like episode monitoring.

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday, school days only
  • Off all holidays, weekends, and school breaks
  • Consistent weekday schedule aligned to the school calendar
  • No nights, weekends, or holiday shifts required

Compensation

  • Pay range: $32.50-$42.00 per hour, depending on license (LPN or RN) and assignment
  • Daily pay available
  • Weekly direct deposit
  • Overtime pay opportunity
  • Potential daily bonuses on select assignments

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unencumbered LPN or RN license: North Carolina license or multistate (compact) license issued by another compact state. If North Carolina is your primary state of residence, you must hold an NC license.
  • LPN: One year of related LPN experience within the last 3 years (direct patient care with transferable clinical skills in pediatrics, home care, long-term care, acute care, or private duty nursing)
  • RN: One year of related RN experience within the last 3 years, or one year of related LPN experience within the last 3 years
  • Current CPR certification from an in-person course (online-only certifications are not accepted)
  • Willingness to complete online assessments
  • Reliable transportation to your assigned school or meeting location
  • Ability to lift and reposition pediatric clients, assist with transfers, and remain alert and responsive throughout the assigned shift

  • Require 6 months of relevant experience plus completion of online assessments

  • Criminal background check and drug screening
  • Health screening and tuberculosis testing in accordance with agency and school district requirements
