Nurse Registered Resident ( New Graduate)

Exeter Hospital, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, offers a year-long Nurse Residency Program designed for newly licensed registered nurses. This comprehensive program provides the foundation of clinical skills you will use throughout your nursing career, with hands-on experience across a variety of patient populations while working alongside experienced preceptors, nurse educators, and supportive colleagues.

As a Magnet-designated hospital, Exeter Hospital is committed to delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the professional development of new nursing graduates. The residency program is structured around best-practice standards and interprofessional collaboration.

Program Overview

The Nurse Residency Program begins with Corporate and Nursing & Clinical Orientation and concludes after successfully completing all required courses and associated competencies, plus at least 50% of elective courses, typically lasting approximately 8 months.

The program is designed to:

• Provide emotional and clinical support to guide your transition into professional nursing
• Promote teamwork and interprofessional communication and collaboration
• Establish clinical competence within a culture of continuous quality and safety
• Integrate current and best evidence into practice
• Facilitate retention and career development

Required Qualifications

• 0-6 months nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse license (New Hampshire or other compact state)
• BCLS certification required for select nursing positions within 30 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Schedule

• Full-time position
• Day shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• Every third weekend required
• Location: Exeter Hospital, Nursing Float Pool

Compensation

• Sign-on bonus eligible
