  • Active PA board certification (for Physician Assistants)
  • CPR certification
  • Advanced life support certifications if relevant to practice area (ACLS, PALS, NRP)

UW Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide virtual primary care in a 100% full-time position. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, cost-effective care to patients through scheduled video visits and asynchronous chart review. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary care team, managing patient health needs and providing coverage for primary care providers who are out of office.

Responsibilities

  • Manage patient health needs as part of an interdisciplinary team through virtual primary care
  • Assess, diagnose, and create treatment and management plans appropriate for patient age, acuity, and clinical condition via virtual health modalities
  • Provide scheduled video visits and dedicated asynchronous in-basket coverage for primary care providers
  • Participate in in-basket workflows and coverage for team members who are out
  • Work at the top of your license to safely triage and manage unfamiliar patients in a virtual setting

Schedule

  • 100% FTE, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • No holidays or on-call duties

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN and APNP license in Wisconsin (for Nurse Practitioners) OR Active PA license in Wisconsin (for Physician Assistants)
  • Active board certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Adult, Adult/Gerontology Primary Care, or Family (for Nurse Practitioners) OR Active PA board certification (for Physician Assistants)
  • Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire
  • CPR certification and advanced life support certifications if relevant to practice area (ACLS, PALS, NRP)
  • Proficiency in navigating electronic health records
  • Strong independent clinical judgment with ability to safely triage and manage unfamiliar patients in a virtual setting
  • Adaptability and ability to pivot between scheduled video visits and dedicated asynchronous chart review

Education
