Dent Neurologic Institute is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Psychiatry Department at our Dent Tower location in Amherst, NY. This is a full-time outpatient position focused on delivering quality psychiatric care to patients with neurologic conditions. You will work as part of a comprehensive treatment team committed to providing progressive, integrated care that includes wellness and support services for patients and their families.
Clinical Setting
Dent Neurologic Institute is a leader in neurologic studies, neuro-diagnostics, and groundbreaking research. The psychiatry clinic operates on an open-access service model, providing world-class treatment through an interdisciplinary provider team. There is no hospital requirement for this role.
Schedule
- Full-time position
- 4 ten-hour days per week (40 hours total)
- No overnight shifts
- No on-call requirement
- No weekend work
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with no restrictions
- Solid understanding of examination methodologies and diagnostics
- Broad knowledge of common and specialty medications, side effects, and contraindications
- In-depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and medical standard methodologies
- Respect for patient confidentiality
Experience
- Experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, or newly graduated, with a strong desire to develop expertise in psychiatry as a subspecialty

Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: New graduates typically start at $95,000-$100,000; most candidates start within the first quartile of the range based on experience
