Sturdy Memorial Hospital is seeking an Intensive Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a per diem nocturnal position in the ICU. You will work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive care to critically ill patients under the clinical supervision of a physician Intensivist.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical assessments and collect and document patient data
  • Conduct approved diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Order and schedule laboratory studies
  • Prescribe appropriate interventions and medications
  • Provide direct patient care services in the ICU setting
  • Contribute to excellence in patient care, teaching, and consulting
  • Provide leadership to the organization and nursing profession
  • Work within nursing process and Advanced Practice Provider protocols as outlined in Patient Care Guidelines

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in an intensive care setting
  • Completion of hospital orientation
  • Departmental specialized training to provide care to patients within role
  • Command of verbal and written English
  • Demonstrated clinical competence in operation of clinical equipment
  • Positive interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented approach
  • Timely, positive responses to the needs of patients, families, co-workers, and physicians

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited school
  • Master's degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, or Master's degree as an Advanced Practice RN/PA

Licenses and Certifications

  • Current Massachusetts RN licensure

Compensation

  • Hourly rate: $54.31 to $85.40
  • Actual compensation determined based on work history, experience, skill set, and education
