Connections Health Solutions is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide medical and clinical services in our behavioral health crisis care setting. You will serve as an attending clinician, directing and coordinating care for individuals in crisis, including psychiatric evaluation, assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, and discharge planning.

Clinical Setting

Connections Health Solutions is a leading provider of immediate-access behavioral health crisis care. Our physician-led, data-driven model combines medical and recovery-oriented treatment to stabilize individuals in crisis and connect them to community-based resources. We serve children, adolescents, and adults experiencing behavioral health crises.

Responsibilities

  • Complete initial psychiatric assessments, crisis interventions, family interventions, and focused crisis diagnostic assessments
  • Assess capacity for consent to treatment and conduct risk assessments
  • Develop and update treatment plans in collaboration with the clinical team
  • Provide individual education and supportive psychotherapy
  • Document progress in clinical records, including admission orders, progress notes, and discharge orders
  • Order laboratory tests according to clinical practice standards
  • Review health assessments completed by nursing staff, obtain medical history, and conduct focused physical examinations as indicated
  • Oversee medication education and consent according to established policy
  • Initiate contact with Primary Care Physicians and Emergency Room clinicians as appropriate
  • Assess individual needs and guide the clinical team regarding treatment plan updates
  • Initiate contact with Outpatient Behavioral Health Providers according to established guidelines
  • Utilize appropriate medications based on best practices
  • Collaborate with other personnel and outside psychiatric providers to ensure appropriate treatment modalities
  • Work with the community to review involuntary petitions, assess involuntary patients, and coordinate with the legal system for Involuntary Evaluation and Treatment
  • Participate in medical staff meetings, including regional and quarterly meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

For Nurse Practitioner:

  • Unrestricted Registered Nursing license in the state of employment
  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with Master's level certification in Psychiatric Mental Health (PMHNP)
  • Licensed in state of employment and hold National Certifications
  • Unrestricted DEA license
  • Experience in the delivery of crisis mental health and/or family health treatment to children, adolescents, and/or adults
  • Ability to perform Safe Clinch patient restraint techniques
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with proper documentation, or otherwise exempt pursuant to the Company's exemption process prior to start date
  • Complete all credentialing requirements within the required time period, including obtaining a National Provider Identifier (NPI), Medallion enrollment, Medicare enrollment, and any other necessary credentials

For Physician Assistant:

  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Licensed in state of employment and hold National Certifications
  • Unrestricted DEA license
  • Experience in the delivery of crisis mental health and/or family health treatment to children, adolescents, and/or adults
  • Ability to perform Safe Clinch patient restraint techniques

  • Full-time, days
  • Eligible for $10,000 commitment bonus for full-time employment
