The opportunity

Job Description

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Advanced Practice team in Electrophysiology. This outpatient position offers the opportunity to deliver specialized cardiac care in a collaborative academic health system setting. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to manage patients with complex cardiac conditions, providing expert consultation and continuity of care across the patient's healthcare journey.

Clinical Setting

This is an outpatient position within VHVI Advanced Practice, part of Vanderbilt Health's eight-hospital system and over 180 clinics. You will work in a specialty-focused environment dedicated to electrophysiology care.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and document comprehensive health histories and perform system-focused or symptom-specific physical examinations
  • Develop assessments and plans of care in collaboration with the healthcare team
  • Order, perform, interpret, and collect diagnostic data using appropriate assessment techniques and diagnostic procedures
  • Form differential diagnoses and treat acute and chronic cardiac conditions
  • Prescribe pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic, and surgical therapeutic interventions to achieve expected patient outcomes
  • Utilize evidence-based, approved practice protocols in planning and implementing care
  • Initiate appropriate referrals and consultations
  • Provide specialty-specific consultation services within your scope of practice
  • Facilitate patient transitions between and within healthcare settings
  • Manage patients' overall care, identifying expected outcomes for diagnoses

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • Days only
  • No weekends
  • No holidays

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Active Tennessee license as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP, AGACNP, or ACNP) or Physician Assistant
  • Relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior cardiology Advanced Practice Provider experience
