Nurse Practitioner- Thomas Street Health Center

Harris Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join Thomas Street Health Center in Houston, Texas. Working in collaboration with attending physicians, you will perform medical acts in accordance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act and Medical Practice Act, providing care to Harris County's low-income, uninsured, and underinsured patient population.

Thomas Street Health Center is part of Harris Health's network of 39 clinics and health centers. Harris Health is a public healthcare safety-net provider serving Harris County since 1966, with a focus on acute and primary care, wellness, disease management, and population health services.

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Current, valid license to practice nursing in the State of Texas
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (Family, Geriatric, or Pediatric specialty)
• Limited Prescriptive Authority
• Basic Life Support certification from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program
• Two years of related experience
• Other certificates as required by unit/service

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills
• Master's Degree in Nursing
• Advanced verbal communication skills, including public speaking ability
• Strong writing and composing skills for correspondence and reports

Special Requirements

• Above average verbal communication skills with heavy public contact
• Exceptional verbal communication skills, including public speaking
• Proficiency with medical terminology and personal computers

Compensation

• $118,289.60 - $153,774.40 annually
