We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to provide primary and preventive care in a correctional or institutional healthcare setting. You will work a flexible schedule of 3 days per week on consistent weekdays, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive medical care to patients in this specialized environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary and preventive care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions
- Manage an average daily caseload in accordance with facility needs
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to ensure coordinated patient care
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation per facility and state standards
- Perform minor procedures as applicable
- Ensure timely communication and follow-up regarding patient care needs
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in primary care, family practice, or internal medicine
- Current BLS certification
- Strong communication and clinical assessment skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior correctional or institutional healthcare experience
- Ability to perform minor procedures
