Nurse Practitioner- Psychiatric PRN

Ascension St. Thomas Behavioral Health Hospital in Nashville, TN is seeking a PRN Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide psychiatric clinical services at a 90-bed behavioral health facility. This position offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated team of 8 providers delivering high-quality psychiatric care.

Position Details

This is a full-time PRN position, 40 hours per week, with 1 opening available. You will provide on-site coverage one weekend per month. Base salary starts at $130,000. No sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, or productivity bonus is offered.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness independently or as part of a healthcare team
• Participate in the formulation of patient Master Treatment Plans
• Assess physical and psychiatric health of patients and formulate measures to meet patient needs
• Chart clinical observations, evaluations, and treatment of patients according to facility guidelines
• Communicate with physicians and other staff to provide quality care within appropriate guidelines
• Encourage family involvement in patient care and respond to identified patient and family educational needs
• Support and follow legal requirements, hospital policy and procedures, medical staff bylaws, and regulatory requirements
• Provide services in accordance with state guidelines for Nurse Practitioners
• Provide on-call responsibilities on a scheduled basis as directed by medical staff
• Order, perform, or interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays
• Prescribe medication as appropriate
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward patients and resolve complaints when patient needs are not met

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing from a Nurse Practitioner program
• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner
• Licensed to practice in Tennessee
• Active DEA license
• Clinical experience working with the patient population of the facility with demonstrated knowledge of limit setting, therapeutic boundaries, crisis management, therapeutic treatment, environment, and patient care

Preferred Qualifications

• Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner
• Behavioral health experience
